Graduate Coursework

The listed graduate courses are the only courses approved for APLDS Clock Hours.

Requirements

Each three-hour course listed below may be used as 30 APLDS Clock Hours if the following criteria are met:

  • The graduate course credit must be awarded June 2025 - May 2026 to count towards the 2025-26 APLDS Program requirements. 

  • Credit will only be awarded to principals and assistant principals.

  • The final course grade must be at least a B.

  • An official transcript must be submitted for verification. Official transcripts may be submitted securely to the ALSDE Professional Learning Section through electronic transmission from the institution as an electronic PDF to Dr. Anna Shepherd-Jones at anna.jones@alsde.edu.

Directions

1. Review the approved graduate coursework list to determine if your graduate coursework is eligible for APLDS

    Clock Hours.

2. For eligible graduate coursework, email Dr. Anna Shepherd-Jones (anna.jones@alsde.edu) the following

     information no later than May 2026:

3. Send an official transcript with the course grade through electronic transmission from the institution as an

     electronic PD to Dr. Anna Shepherd-Jones at anna.jones@alsde.edu no later than May 2026.

4. You do not need to register for a course in PowerSchool PL. The APLDS Clock Hour credit will be awarded by         you. Dr. Anna Shepherd-Jones will follow up in an email when this process has been completed.
