The 15th Annual National Peer Program Conference is a high-impact professional learning experience designed to strengthen administrator leadership capacity in student well-being, school climate, and instructional excellence. The conference theme, “Where Hope Takes Center Stage” emphasizes the leader’s role in cultivating connected, compassionate, and high-performing learning environments. Administrators will participate in a national-level keynote address and breakout sessions with discussion that align directly with the Alabama Standards for School Leadership and the Alabama Principal Leadership Development System.

The purpose of this professional study is to equip leaders to work collaboratively with school faculty and staff to plan and implement professional learning that promotes growth in all individuals within the organization to positively impact student learning. Participants will partner to observe classroom instruction in select schools to determine the needs of the school and of the leadership. Participants will then create professional learning goals for themselves and for their schools based upon the evidence they collect within their own buildings.

The purpose of this professional study is to provide administrators with the opportunity to take an in-depth look at the pathway to proficiency for all students. Educational leaders will review the key components of the formative assessment cycle with the goal of leading their faculty members to make student learning and standards mastery visible through formal and informal assessments. Classroom Assessment Essentials published by ASCD and written by Susan Brookhart will serve as a guiding text for this study.

This study will examine the skills needed for courageous leadership and how to lead an organization by first reflecting on their leadership style and conversation style with the goal of then leading others.

As AI reshapes the educational landscape, leaders must develop the knowledge and skills necessary to integrate these technologies effectively, ethically, and strategically.

In this workshop, participants will discover how to build a coaching culture and mindset in their school or district, including those without designated coaches. Participants will dive into the coaching process through the use of short videos of classroom instruction to experience the process, tools, and feedback protocol. Marzano experts will also explore the Marzano model of instructional rounds and how it serves as an extension of the enhanced instructional coaching process to reach all school teachers.

Standards-based learning is a transformative journey that goes beyond minor tweaks; rather, it overhauls your curriculum, assessment, and reporting, sparking the most impactful initiatives for school leaders. This workshop will emphasize the importance of starting with the rationale and process for prioritizing standards in standards-based grading rather than starting with the grading system. Participants will examine a thoughtful and practical implementation process for each element of an effective standards-based grading system—highlighting the potential pitfalls, opportunities, and challenges.

Through observational learning and practical application, participants will experience coaching from the perspective of every participant in the coaching conversation. Participants will discover how to use a proven coaching model to help team members create individual results that support the organization’s mission.
