2025-26 APLDS Program Requirements

For all currently employed principals and assistant principals (as of October 1, 2025), successful completion of the APLDS program consists of the following: 
 
  1. Annual completion of the APLDS Evaluation System in the Teaching Effectiveness (TE) application through the ALSDE Identity Management (AIM) Portal.
  1. Annual completion of at least 30 APLDS clock hours of approved, high-quality professional learning awarded through the PowerSchool Professional Learning platform between June 1, 2025 - May 31, 2026.
  1. All new principals (first and second year) must also participate in an approved new principal mentoring program. (Note: APLDS clock hours are not awarded for the new principal mentoring program.)

Due Dates

Program (in)completion must be certified by school administrators and evaluators no later than:

  • May 1, 2026 for retiring principals and assistant principals

  • June 19, 2026 for all other principals and assistant principals

Tips:

  • It is strongly recommended that program (in)completion be certified for all school administrators by May 2026.

  • Districts may have different internal deadlines earlier than state deadlines.
