2026-27 State-Approved List for APLDS Clock Hours

One requirement for successful completion of the Alabama Principal Leadership Development System (APLDS) Program each year is that principals and assistant principals must complete 

at least 30 APLDS Clock Hours of high-quality professional learning from the state-approved list.

Title:

APLDS - EdTech: 2026-27 PLUACLD1391 Special Students in Regular Classrooms: Technology, Teaching, and UDL

During this course participants will explore technology and teaching, specifically Universal Design for Learning, in relation to special education students and regular classrooms. They will develop an Action Plan focused on a problem specific to their organization and create an implementation proposal towards a solution to that problem.The course will be divided into 6 weekly academic session followed by a 3-week period for developing the Action Plan Template.Week 1: OrientationWeek 2: Introduction to Universal Design for LearningWeek 3: ENGAGEMENT (the why of learning): recruiting interest, sustaining effort and persistence, and self-regulation.Week 4: REPRESENTATION: the what of learning): perception, language and symbols, and comprehension.Week 5: Action & Expression (the how of learning): Interaction, Expression and Communication, and Strategy Development.Week 6: Pulling it all Together This week is all about reflection.
